Away time isn't updating

Open Settings → Tracking in ScreenAway and check that Family Controls shows "Monitoring". If it says "Not authorized", tap through to grant Screen Time access.
In Choose apps to track, tap Select All for all-day coverage. Tracking only observes the apps and categories you select.
Away time appears as gaps of 30+ minutes between phone usage, at minute precision — short breaks under 30 minutes don't count, and new usage can take a few minutes to register.

The widget looks empty or stale

Open the app once — widgets refresh whenever ScreenAway comes to the foreground.
For the transparent widget: upload a fresh Home Screen screenshot in Settings → Transparent widget, pick the slot your widget sits in, then use Fine-tune position.

Insights say "using built-in insights"

AI insights use Apple Intelligence on your device. If it's off, still downloading, or your iPhone doesn't support it, ScreenAway automatically uses its built-in insight text instead — nothing breaks. Enable Apple Intelligence in iOS Settings to switch to AI-written insights.

A focus session won't end

Open ScreenAway and tap End focus session on the Today tab. Shields lift immediately. Force-quitting the app does not end a session — the button does.

How do I delete my data?

Delete the app. All data lives on your iPhone, so deleting ScreenAway removes everything. There is no account and no server copy — see the privacy policy.
